List of Cryptids

According to Merriam-Webster, Cryptids are "an animal (such as Sasquatch or the Loch Ness Monster) that has been claimed to exist but never proven to exist". And to be honest, this is a perfect description of the mysterious creatures. It states outright that evidence of their existence has been found but doesn't deny their existence either. This has been a problem that many cryptozoologists face as other scientific fields deny their claims and consider the entire field of study to be nothing more than a popular pseudoscience like astrology and creationism. Because of these doubts, Cryptozoology has never received the same credibility and funding as other scientific fields.

North American Cryptids

North America is the home of many different types of cryptids from flying horse-headed dragons to hairy bipedal apemen. Many of these mysterious monsters have been sighted numerous times over the years, but concrete evidence of what they have still yet to be found. But just because the evidence has not been found does not mean it doesn't exist. Over the years there have been several animals that were considered cryptids that have been proven to be real. North America has a unique landscape, filled with a diverse range of biomes, making it the perfect home for cryptids of all types.
