What is Bigfoot?

Bigfoot is a North American cryptid believed to roam primarily around the mountainous areas of the country. The first modern stories of the creature arose around 1960, but the natives have told tales of "hairy men" in the mountains for hundreds of years. The length of time the story has been around has led many people to believe that an unknown type of creature still exists within the United States, capable of avoiding detection for all these years. Unlike many of the other cryptids you will learn about, Bigfoot is one of the only known cryptids to be seen in clear video footage, and yet to be disproven. The truth is, Nobody knows what those young filmmakers saw in the woods that day.

Appearance

People that have seen Bigfoot usually claim it to be extremely tall, being at least 12-foot tall by most accounts. The hairy creature is also said to stand upright with broad shoulders but is also believed to have a short neck and long arms of an ape. People that have seen the creature at night have also claimed that it had a pair of glowing yellow eyes, something not seen in humans or apes. It is also believed that the animal has an extremely humanlike face that shows complex emotion.
